Foyles

Foyles

Foyles, Charing Cross Road / Greek Street

Soho Estates successfully purchased the Foyles building which is one acre of land between Charing Cross Road and Greek Street. The transaction was exchanged in five days and completed in five weeks. The site offers a tremendous opportunity; the Charing Cross Road elevation as retail and the Greek Street site as a mixed use/hotel development. The site sits adjacent to the Cross rail development which will change the footfall of the area and improve the retail use of the west side of Charing Cross Road.  Plans are progressing to double the size of accommodation on the site to 225,000 sq. ft.  A planning application is anticipated before the end of 2014.

Westlegate Norwich

Westlegate Norwich

14 - 20 Westlegate, Norwich, NR1 3LR

Following the successful purchase of Westlegate Tower in the summer of 2011, Soho Estates, working in conjunction with JV partners 'FW Properties Limited', has now obtained full planning consent for the conversion of this former office block and surrounding land and buildings. The overall scheme designed by architects ‘5th Studio’ of Cambridge and London, comprises some 50,000 square feet of residential, retail and leisure accommodation and is scheduled to complete in May 2014. Sales activity is very encouraging, with 74% of the residential units under offer well in advance of practical completion.

Walker's Court

Walker's Court

Walker's Court, London, W1F

In December 2013, planning consent was obtained for the redevelopment of Walker's Court and surrounding buildings. We are also delighted to be able to announce that the iconic Raymond Revuebar sign is to be reinstated as a memorial to our founder and to maintain the sense of identity this location has for Soho residents and visitors alike.

Walker's Court is the principal Northbound conduit to Berwick Street, with strategic opportunities and a role to play in the success of proposed redevelopments in the Berwick Street area. Walker's Court is situated near to the centre of the Soho Conservation Area. The buildings comprising the proposal site are not noted for any particular historic or architectural merit but they are placed in the context of several others that are. The Court itself is a narrow pedestrianised street between Brewer Street and Peter Street and links Rupert Street with Berwick Street, which is popular with tourists and the local workers and works as a North-South connecting route to and from the heart of the West End. Our proposals include the resurrection of the famous Boulevard Theatre - home of the original Comic Strip comedy show (Dawn French, Adrian Edmonson et al) and new offices for SEL, providing us with a return to our spiritual home.

76 Dean Street

76 Dean Street

76 Dean Street, London, W1D

The new Soho House is expected to open in early 2015 and works on site are progressing well towards this goal.
We are proud to be restoring this building to its former glory; a Grade II* listed building dating from 1732, following a major fire in July 2009. Fortunately the fire did not completely destroy a very important Seascape mural dating back to the mid 1700’s and consequently this will feature prominently in the reconstruction and redesign of the building.

We have recently purchased 5 Richmond Mews which lies to the rear at 76 Dean Street, which is also being incorporated into this redevelopment.

We are very proud to be negotiating with Westminster City Council for the conversion of this former office building into key worker affordable housing units. FCH once again won the chance to represent us with an innovative design for the conversion and extension of this tired building.
